![]() ![]() While not the only improvement over S1, just take Quick Controls as one example. ![]() MIDI anything is a billion times better in Cubase. You have built in pitch and time correction (no need for Melodyne unless you have some very specific needs), and the engine that does this is amazing and easy to use, with multiple modes. Speaking of which, Control Room is a must once you learn how to use it. Much easier and faster to use than the super solo functionality in S1. The mixer is much more advanced in Cubase, and as a small example you have a Listen button. You know, stuff I actually work with daily. I want faster project load times, less crashes, efficient sample browsing and categorization, automatable macro knobs so I can build proper effect racks. I give less and less shits about ATMOS, video editing, live shows, etc. There is a whole bunch of song breaking bugs, reported by multiple users, and their threads are ignored for years, often despite them having tens and even hundreds of upvotes. There are basic features like macro knobs that can't be automated and the complaints about them are literally 7 years old. On non-trivial project sizes, random routing bugs occur. But for a professional user, it doesn't realize the potential it has, because they neglect the basics in favor of new, fancy, marketable features. And I always wondered: Why is Studio One not higher up in market share and especially professional users? It should be, considering how beautiful it's workflow is designed.Īnd now that I start to really know what I'm doing, the answer seems to become more and more: Studio One is an awesome DAW, it's an amazing place to learn production. In the last two years I really started getting a grasp of things production wise. Honestly, I am frustrated as hell right now. ![]()
